The faculty and staff of Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial National High School (JZMNHS) headed by Mr. Oliver P. Caliwag, the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) officers led by Mr. Ricky Villamin, and its Stakeholders gathered to witness a turn-over ceremony of the new handwashing facility at the grade 10 building, on June 3, 2022.
At the event, Rowell G. Regalado – School Focal Person and Head of the Science Department expressed his warm greetings to everyone present on the occasion, specially to those who contributed to the realization of the project. He extended gratitude to Ms. Salud A. Balala – School's Guidance Counselor who served as a mediation partner, to Engr. Randolf G. Villanueva – School's Alumnus and designer of the handwashing facility and most especially to the donor of the project Angelita O. Montero Ph.D. – President, St. Ignatius Academy. He also emphasized how the project could contribute to the health and sanitation aspect of the JZGMNSians.
While in her message, Ms. Montero communicated her passion in extending a helping hand for public schools. “Ako ay galing sa public school at naging guro sa loob ng 28 taon kaya malapit ang puso ko sa mga paaralan katulad ng Jacobo,” she said. She also promised to donate another project next school year.
Moreover, Mr. Oliver P. Caliwag-School Principal highlighted the importance of having partners who are always willing to help pave the way to achieve a safer and more conducive place to learn.
Also, Ms. Charmaine Recinto – Wash in School (WiNS) Coordinator was also delighted to accept the newly built washing facility. It’s the fifth washing facility installed on the campus.
The program ends with a short closing message from Mr. Regalado followed by a simple celebration.
