As the world shaken by the horrific impact of the pandemic, Philippines is one of the most affected nations in Asia due to the absence of medical facilities and medical practitioners in the country. Closures of offices and series of lockdowns were among the only solutions that the government can offer to slow down the spread of the virus. The economy around the world reached rock bottom, constraining the function of all government institutions. Meanwhile, the Department of Education immediately act in closing the schools due to tremendous increase of covid cases.
Educational system in our country faces an ultimate challenge during the spread of the virus. Since our educational set-up was designed to be a face-to-face scheme, distance learning as an only option would be hard for the department. There were challenges in educational materials to utilize, gadgets to use and connectivity issues. Thus, different learning modalities were implemented in the country such as Modular Distance Learning (MDL) in which printed materials are being provided, Online Distance Learning (ODL) students attend online classes utilizing different platforms available.
However, in JZGMNHS the challenges keep on surfacing in the process of implementation of the introduced modality of learning. There were difficulties in the distribution and retrieval of the learning materials, dissemination of instructions, communication gaps between teachers and learners, parents’ capacity to guide their child and even teachers’ capacity to use online platforms is insufficient.
Despite the odds, our school take the lead in innovating solutions to address the issues regarding teaching learning process. This year of implementation of CI programs, eleven (11) projects have been approved for the school year 2021 – 2022.
1. Project 5E-STAR

5. Project SIMPLe
6. Project SMILE
7. Project REAL

These CI projects target the existing problem in our school and eventually its positive impact will be reflected in the proficiency level of the learners.
